My Book

MULTIPLE: A Christian’s Battle with Insanity begins when I was fifty years old and told by a psychologist that I needed to go to a mental hospital for three months. This fit in perfectly with my life struggle, which was the need and desire to overcome my intense mental problems and be regarded as normal by my peers.

During my therapy my psychologist and I discovered New Nancy, the first alternate personality to make herself known. She wrote in my journal, and I publish a picture of her childish handwriting in Chapter 5. It is amazing to read her journal entries, because she describes what it was like to be abused and how it made her feel. I continue to describe my psychotherapy and the discovery of more than thirteen personalities, and I include many journal entries by the personalities themselves.

MULTIPLE explains my background, my abuse and the psychological tricks my mind used to escape the abuse. As my therapist discovered the personalities and they made themselves known, healing began, and I was able to meet them and learn about their needs and wants. It helped immeasurably to begin to understand my alters and explained most of my crazy behavior. I have spent the rest of my life trying to help them calm down and realize they are not going to be sexually abused again.

I believe my story needs to be told so that people can understand the terrible effect childhood sexual abuse has on its victims, and that stronger laws and measures need to be taken to treat this appalling problem in our society. My book will be of help to professionals, parents and caregivers who can learn the symptoms of child abuse in this first-hand account.

Copies of MULTIPLE : A Christian’s Battle with Insanity  should be available in the next few weeks.

Amazing! How does your Christian side stay that way (a believer)? Is there only one of you who believes? I hope it’s ok to ask. And I know God has a plan for you just the way you are – I’m guessing you already know that though. What a disjointed comment I’ve left you!…

Thank you for your disjointed comment. I’ve never really thought that some of my personalities may not be Christians. Several of them are still children, so they’ve never faced that kind of serious decision. I know most of the grown-ups have accepted Jesus as their Savior, so in that sense we all believe.
